Responsibilities

Protect establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies
Attend the details and presentation of each order
Serve guests food and beverage in a professional, positive, and friendly manner
Maintain dining ambiance with an enthusiastic attitude
Follow service standards of the restaurant as outlined by front-of-house (FOH) Director of Operations; ensure employees are trained and upheld to these standards
Assist guests in selecting food and beverage, explain chef specialties, identify appropriate beverage pairings, and answer food preparation questions
Support FOH employees by assisting them on the floor (bussing, marking, running food, delivering drinks, opening wine, etc.)
Prepare and conduct pre-service meetings daily
Assign server sections and plot reservations; communicate with host/hostess
Collaborate and communicate with Chef de Cuisine (CDC) daily regarding restaurant operations and menu updates
Develop employee training relevant to service professionals
Cultivate high employee and guest satisfaction; problem solve and communicate with FOH Director of Operations and Assistant General Manager (AGM) regarding employee and guest concerns
Collaborate with FOH Director of Operations to create wine list / cocktail menus
Expand knowledge of wine list and cocktail menus based on current hospitality trends
Communicate with AGM daily to optimize a smooth and successful service
Engage and communicate with guests to elevate hospitality experience
Clean and maintain all FOH equipment per manufacturer standards
Maintain a score of 90 or greater/100 on health inspections
Communicate with CDC to ensure timely repairs and maintenance
Ensure all necessary tools are available to equip employees for service
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient FOH including exterior, interior dining room and bathrooms
Create and uphold cleaning and maintenance schedules for FOH employees
Demonstrate professional and efficient interpersonal communication with supervisors and employees
Create 'Daily Update Sheet' for pre-service meetings
Create schedules for FOH employee shifts; manage employee request off forms and communicate with employees in a timely manner
Master skill of managing labor numerically; monitor, coach and adjust all FOH schedules weekly, or as needed, to ensure all departments are fully staffed and meet labor projections and budgets provided by the From Scratch Management Team
Onboard and train new employees timely and efficiently per standards outlined by FOH Director of Operations
Document in service log using professional language daily and communicate with FOH Director of Operations
Make cash deposits and count all cash on hand daily
Update online and printed menus timely and accurately
Update point of sales (POS) menu with correct items, prices and item counts
Collaborate with AGM, if applicable, daily to meet goals and standards of restaurant outlined by FOH Director of Operations
Input daily revenue and cost data into appropriate spreadsheets
Code and scan vendor invoices to Director of Finance daily
Manage beverage alcohol and non-alcoholic inventory and order timely and accurately
Manage glassware, china and silverware inventory and order timely and accurately
Conduct weekly inventory of goods; monitor and adjust inventory to ensure orders are timely and reflective of par levels
Treat our vendors with dignity and respect
Attend biweekly From Scratch Manager Team Meetings; communicate status of restaurant; implement new policies and procedures as directed
Meet short term and long-term deadlines outlined by FOH Director of Operations
Take active, consistent steps toward increasing top line revenue with excellent hospitality
Participate in continuing education offered and approved by FOH Director of Operations and From Scratch Management Team
Welcome and communicate with guests in person and over-the-phone in a warm, friendly and efficient manner
Communicate with guest regarding inquiries via email, phone and/or in-person timely and succinctly
Maintain updated private event calendar; communicate with FOH Director of Operations and CDC
Book event in Resy as soon as event is contracted
Secure deposit for booked events per rules of the contract
Communicate with culinary team regarding event menus
Write and disseminate Banquet Event Order (BEOs) for contracted events
Schedule appropriate employees for events in timely manner
Attend event and be available to the guest host
Create 'swag bag' for eligible guest hosts; communicate inventory for bags to FOH Director of Operations
Secure rentals when needed; pick-up/drop off rentals in a timely manner

Required

Minimum three years of management experience in the hospitality industry; full service/fine dining preferred
Proficient in standard ordering and receiving practices, inventory practices, and scheduling
High School Diploma
Experience with payroll, invoicing, scheduling, basic accounting
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Proficient with point-of-sales software, MICROS, Aloha, Focus, etc
Extensive Wine & Spirits Knowledge
Experience using reservation software, Resy, OpenTable, etc
Excellent communication skills; understand and use basic culinary/hospitality terms
Thrive in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude
Punctual and considerate of others time
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Organizational skills
Adaptable and flexible
Accuracy and speed in executing tasks
Ability to work as a team member

Carry three plates of food simultaneously
Current Food Handler Managers Certification
Stand for eight hours; lift up to 50 pounds, carry up to 50 pounds for up to 150 feet, and push/pull 50 pounds for up to 200 feet
