Responsibilities

Advise on a broad range of regulations that may impact cloud products across areas such as privacy, AI, competition, content, financial services, and data use
Work with legal and compliance teams across Google to understand Google compliance strategy and advocate for cloud product compliance strategy
Advise compliance and product teams with an appropriate risk assessment
Advise commercial teams globally on customer concerns regarding compliance, and assist with negotiations as needed
Work with other stakeholders and counsels to collaboratively develop strategies

Required

JD, LL.B., equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience
Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g., have registered in-house status) in the state in which the position is located
3 years of attorney-level experience in government, in-house, or at a law firm
Experience with working regulations in several of the following regulatory areas such as privacy, data use, AI, competition, content and financial services

Preferred

Experience advising enterprise or cloud companies
Experience in utilizing AI tools to streamline and scale legal support
Ability to work on their own and collaboratively within a team
Ability to support new and emerging regulations, and to develop knowledge on first of a kind issues
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Excellent investigative, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to explain legal issues clearly and concisely to non-legal stakeholders
