ProAmpac is seeking a Summer Intern for their Continuous Improvement Engineer role to learn from and participate in the Corporate Operational Excellence Team's deployment of a continuous improvement program. The intern will assist with implementing lean manufacturing concepts, reducing waste, improving efficiencies, and developing a problem-solving culture on the manufacturing shop floor.

Responsibilities

Lead continuous improvement projects across the site

Support identification and application of best practices, operating standards, and metrics

Support deploying Managing for Daily Improvement as the lean management system across the site

Support facilitating the identification, prioritization, preparation, execution, and follow up on CI initiatives across the site

Conduct frequent operational data analysis and reviews to support identification and prioritization process for CI activities

Execute an audit program to ensure proper deployment and sustainment of all CI activities

Actively build and maintain effective working relationships with operations and business leaders at all levels

Support the maintenance of the site's CI Plan

All other duties as assigned

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for employer sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred

Interest in continuous improvement and pursuing a related degree in engineering

Two or three years of college completed with classes already taken in lean manufacturing, six sigma, and/or industrial systems or equivalent work experience in a continuous improvement role

Excellent English language fluency is a must, additional language capabilities are a strong plus

Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point), Visio, and Outlook email and calendar capabilities

Excellent project management skills

Ability to organize and conduct data analysis on operational data

Ability to communicate effectively (verbal, written, and presentations) with executive leadership, staff, and internal and external clients

Proactive; exercises sound judgment and decision making; able to identify problems and needs and develop solutions and/or options

Self-confident, self-motivated polished professional who thrives in a challenging, fast-paced environment
