This role involves writing firmware, contributing to electronics design, developing system-level software logic, and physically building and testing prototypes in a regulated medical environment.

Responsibilities

Write and debug embedded firmware for smart textile sensing systems

Contribute to electronics design (schematics review, component selection, power, sensing circuits)

Develop system-level logic that ties sensors, firmware, and data outputs together

Build, test, and iterate on physical prototypes (not just paper designs)

Define and implement interfaces between textiles, sensors, electronics, firmware, and software

Translate user and clinical needs into practical, buildable system requirements

Perform trade studies (sensing methods, durability, wash life, power, cost, performance)

Design and execute verification tests and analyze real-world performance data

Support design controls and risk management activities in a regulated environment

Work closely with manufacturing to ensure designs are scalable, durable, and cost-effective
