Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Manager

The A/P & A/R Manager will oversee all daily Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial transactions while managing a team of processors.

Responsibilities

Lead, train, and support the A/P and A/R processors, ensuring clarity of responsibilities, accuracy of work, and accountability to deadlines
Develop team workflows, set expectations, and create a culture of efficiency, accuracy, and continuous improvement
Serve as the first point of escalation for vendor issues, customer invoicing questions, payment discrepancies, and internal departmental inquiries
Oversee the full A/P cycle, including vendor onboarding, invoice coding, 3-way match, approval routing, payment processing, and resolution of variances
Ensure invoices are processed timely to support vendor relationships, cash-flow planning, and month-end close
Maintain accurate A/P aging, monitor outstanding vendor balances, and ensure compliance with payment terms
Strengthen internal controls around purchasing, payment authorization, and documentation retention
Oversee invoicing for wholesale, retail, manufacturing, and intercompany transactions across all business entities
Monitor customer payments and ensure timely cash application
Maintain a clean A/R aging schedule; follow up on overdue accounts with professionalism and consistent cadence
Partner with sales and operations teams to resolve pricing discrepancies, short pays, and customer disputes
Oversee transactional workflows within Acumatica and other business systems to ensure accurate data flow
Identify and implement process improvements that reduce errors, shorten cycle times, and increase visibility across departments
Maintain strong internal control practices around approval workflows, file retention, invoice documentation, and segregation of duties
Ensure all A/P and A/R transactions are processed and reconciled in advance of close deadlines
Prepare supporting schedules (A/P aging, A/R aging, prepaid schedules, accruals) for the Controller and Assistant Controller
Assist with intercompany billing and reconciliation of shared services transactions

Required

3–5 years of experience in A/P, A/R, or general accounting
Leadership/supervisory experience required
Strong understanding of transactional accounting and internal control workflows
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage people, deadlines and competing priorities
Strong communication skills for working with employees, vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders
Computer proficiency including word processing, data entry, spreadsheets, and generating reports using standard software applications
Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple projects and details simultaneously
Analytical ability to gather, summarize & interpret data, find solutions to various administrative problems, and prioritize work
Ability to develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
Strong written and oral communication skills to interact with co-workers and vendors in a professional and helpful manner in person or via phone or written correspondence
Ability to develop, plan, and implement short- and long-term goals
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-moving, multi-entity environment

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred
Experience within agriculture, beverage manufacturing, hospitality, or multi-entity environments a plus
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP systems (Acumatica preferred)
