Responsibilities
Assist a team of attorneys with proofreading, document management, calendaring, and drafting correspondence
Contact courts to check dockets and calendar applicable deadlines
Prepare document shells for reports, memos, and pleadings in accordance with client and court guidelines
Reconcile credit card statements and attorney expenses; coordinate with the accounting department to ensure proper billing
Occasionally coordinate travel arrangements and reservations for attorneys and clients
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Associate degree from an accredited college or university
3–5+ years of professional experience in a law firm or legal environment
Highly detail-oriented and organized
Strong verbal and written communication skills with a professional demeanor
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Willingness to learn new technology and systems (document management, e-filing, e-discovery, etc.)
Ability to work independently, manage a high-volume workload, and meet deadlines
Preferred
Paralegal certificate or pre-law degree preferred but not required
