Responsibilities
Support and maintain the facility Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001 and customer requirements
Ensure compliance with industry standards such as IEEE, ANSI, NEMA, and UL where applicable
Participate in internal, customer, and third-party audits and support corrective action closure
Provide day-to-day quality engineering support on the production floor
Develop, review, and improve inspection plans, control plans, and quality documentation
Support first-article inspections, in-process inspections, and final product validation
Assist in disposition of nonconforming material (MRB) and implement containment actions as needed
Lead root cause analysis efforts using tools such as 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, and FMEA
Drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and verify effectiveness
Identify opportunities to reduce defects, scrap, rework, and warranty issues
Support Lean, Kaizen, and Six Sigma initiatives across manufacturing operations
Support supplier quality activities including incoming inspection, supplier corrective actions, and performance metrics
Collaborate with Supply Chain on supplier development and quality improvement initiatives
Support customer quality concerns, returns, and field issues as required
Participate in customer meetings, audits, and quality reviews
Ensure timely and effective response to customer complaints and corrective actions
Track and analyze quality KPIs including defects, scrap, rework, and audit findings
Prepare quality reports and present findings to plant leadership
Maintain accurate quality records and documentation
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related field)
3+ years of Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience with ISO 9001 quality systems
Strong knowledge of root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally on the shop floor
Preferred
Experience in transformer, electrical equipment, or heavy industrial manufacturing
Familiarity with IEEE, ANSI, NEMA, or UL standards
Lean, Six Sigma, or quality certifications (CQE, Green Belt, etc.)
Experience with supplier quality and customer audits
