Responsibilities

Explore new visual language and overarching story for the material design system and design specific components and subsystems

Define systems for brand expression in product, and establish and document visual systems for color, typography, shape, layout, etc

Draw example screens showing elements of the design system in action

Collaborate with design teams across Google to help them implement material design in their products

Collaborate effectively with interaction and motion designers, engineering, research, product, and writing within Google Design Platform to ship a functioning system

Required

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience

8 years of experience in product design or UX

Experience with interactive and visual design

Experience in layout and composition

Experience with brand expression and style

Include a portfolio, website, or any other relevant link to your work in your resume (providing a viewable link or access instructions)

Preferred

Experience with design systems, including abstract thinking about second order effects of choices at the system level

Experience with visual design for software products

Experience leading large-scale creative collaboration sprints and workshops

Excellent creative coding, interaction design, illustration, motion design, and iconography skills
