Components Engineer
Intelligent Manufacturing Solutions (IMS) is focused on designing and developing Digital and RF Products. The Components Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the reliability of electrical components and overseeing their selection for various assemblies.

Responsibilities
Designing, developing, and supporting Digital and RF Products
Ensuring the electrical components in the modules meet reliability requirements and product life cycle requirements
Overseeing the proper selection of components for electrical or mechanical assemblies
Test and select integrated circuits, resistors, capacitors, connectors and many other electronic parts
Design, evaluate, and qualify components to meet product needs
Handle component changes due to obsolescence or supply shortages
Assist with location of component sources vendors and manufacturers
Locate alternate sources, find components substitutions along with qualification strategy
Researching component termination styles, plastic encapsulation styles, and component construction processes
Generating Vendor Identification Drawings, Source Control Drawings, and Altered Item Drawings
Calculating an accurate cost analysis forecast for a project
Completing the required technical and regulatory documents
Rigorously testing products, software or infrastructure
Ensuring projects are completed on-time with the specified budget
Strong understanding of theoretical and practical use of electronics, device physics, semiconductor components and related technologies
In-depth understanding of various materials and their properties
Ability to work with testing various components for their suitability
Proficient in testing methods and qualification processes
Strong adherence to quality standards for all component testing
Ability to adapt to changes in requirements and technological advancements
Effective communication when interacting with department, colleagues and vendors
Excellent ability to problem solve in identifying and solving issues with component availability, cost pressures and quality assurance
Ability to work together in a team or independently to achieve common goals
Qualification
Required
A strong background in component engineering
Test and select integrated circuits, resistors, capacitors, connectors and many other electronic parts

Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or related technical field or equivalent experience/combined education
5+ years of professional level experience
Demonstrated knowledge of electrical component parameters and packaging is required
Demonstrated knowledge of high reliability military component standards and specifications is required
