Responsibilities
Assessing applications for insurance coverage
Reviewing (APD/MTC) reports provided by loss control consultants
Decide if the application meets the criteria for the available program(s)
Analyze the risk experience in relation to the business class being evaluated
Assess potential losses stemming from catastrophes, severity, and/or frequency
Rating new policies or verifying existing ones to ensure they are correctly rated
Apply knowledge of automated systems to gather necessary information for new policies or renewals
Preparing quotes for agents and addressing inquiries from agents, policyholders, or potential clients
Support agents by addressing their comments or questions regarding applications and the likelihood of acceptance by our company
Reviewing requests for cancellations, endorsements, and evaluating policies for renewal
Request any additional documentation required for processing applications, endorsements, or cancellations
Engaging in marketing visits to agents
Qualification
Required
Candidates must hold a New Jersey Producer's License
Over 10 years of experience in E&S brokerage
Previous involvement with insurance underwriting activities
Strong oral and written communication abilities
Excellent analytical skills
Keen attention to detail
Proven negotiation abilities
Solid understanding of insurance coverage forms and their relevance to various exposures
Familiarity with departmental regulations and policies
Capability to work independently and complete tasks within the framework of provided instructions, established routines, and standard underwriting practices
Interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with staff and company underwriters
Preferred
Experience with standard underwriting practices and procedures
Relevant coursework, industry licenses, or designations
