Responsibilities
Complete and maintain accurate takeoffs, budgets, and purchase orders for all stages of residential construction
Support builders with project documentation, schedule revisions, and coordination during active construction
Manage RFQs, submittals, and change orders to ensure timely communication between office, vendors, and field teams
Assist in maintaining and improving subcontractor scopes of work, agreements, and pricing databases
Collaborate with Design and Sales teams to provide clear and timely pricing for custom plans, plan modifications, and client selections
Track project costs and variances; research and recommend alternatives that reduce costs or improve efficiency
Monitor project progress with Production team and proactively address challenges to keep homes on schedule
Serve as a resource for field problem-solving, bridging estimating accuracy with on-site realities
Contribute as an active member of the Purchasing & Estimating team Assisting in identifying gaps in takeoffs, pricing, scopes, and workflows
Promote HBD’s commitment to safety, quality, and client satisfaction across all projects
Qualification
Required
Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
Experience in construction is required
Ability to take action to meet the needs of others; respond to problems
Possess excellent verbal communication skills
Ability to persevere in accomplishing tasks and objectives with a sense of urgency about getting results
Ability to maintain composure and resourcefulness to complete job responsibilities
Ability to cooperate to build consensus and assist others to achieve team goals
Detail and task oriented
Technical proficiency and adaptability in software such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat and Hyphen Suite
Preferred
2+ years of experience in estimating or project coordination preferred
