Responsibilities

Examine and inspect materials and parts to discover defects, wear, and tear

Ensure that products or parts conform to work orders, specifications, blueprints, and templates

Inspect materials and finished parts, determine if the product or part is in conformance with specifications, and adjust process or assembly equipment

Re-work parts per work instructions

Use precision measuring instruments and complex text equipment

Other duties as assigned

Required

High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos

Ability to write simple correspondence, and to speak and present information effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization

Good organizational and communication skills

Ability to do simple math: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division

Ability to add positive and negative numbers. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions

Ability to handle problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations

Knowledge of inspection techniques and measurement instrument usage

Knowledge of quality systems and standards

Frequent standing or walking for long periods of time

Regularly lifting or lowering objects up to 30 pounds

Frequent reaching above/below shoulder and forward

Occasional bending, stooping, and crouching

Specific vision abilities required by this job including ability to adjust focus
