Senior Manager Program Management - Defense
Curtiss-Wright Corporation is a recognized leader in comprehensive and integrated data acquisition through telemetry systems, and they are seeking a Senior Manager of Programs. In this role, you will ensure program technical, cost, and schedule commitments are met while leading integrated product teams and managing the Program Management Office.
Responsibilities
Establish structure, process and accountability culture in the Program Management Office centered around achievable program plans, risk management, schedule adherence and on-budget performance while achieving revenue, profitability and working capital objectives of the business unit
Perform supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
Proactively manage customer escalations with clear and executable mitigation/recovery plans
Work with Engineering, Operations, and support organizations to analyze proposals with respect to cost/risk/quality, lead source selections and negotiation teams, and monitor costs, schedules, and technical performance
Hold program and proposal Kick-off Meetings, establishing baselines for planned cost, design configuration and schedule
Manage, coordinate and control Work Plan execution to achieve technical, cost and schedule objectives
Lead multi-disciplinary program teams and regular meetings to monitor and drive progress toward objectives while anticipating and taking corrective action in problem areas before they occur
Take a proactive stance by developing contingency plans in potential risk areas and identifying contingency plan deployment criteria to resolve potential problems. Report potential problems to upper management
Review and control cost, including the coordination and certification of Estimate at Complete
Maintain effective customer communications, ensuring that all customer requirements and expectations are addressed effectively
Ensure pertinent written records are maintained that document all agreements / commitments related to the project
Qualification
Required
5-15 years experience in Aerospace and Defense program management
2 or more years people management experience
Demonstrated ability to effectively develop and manage detailed program budgets
Familiarity with Earned Value Management Systems and Risk Management
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures for a high complexity product line
Prior engineering/operations experience with current experience in program management
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions
Strong customer relationship experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information to diverse internal and external audiences
US citizen and able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance
Preferred
Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Business preferred (or equivalent)
Project Management Professional Certification is an asset
