Responsibilities

Lead and execute the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely reconciliation of accounts, preparation of journal entries, and completion of financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Review financial data for accuracy and completeness
Build and maintain detailed financial projections that reflect business goals, operational drivers, and historical trends
Translate complex financial data and concepts into clear, actionable insights
Develop and manage rolling forecasts that adapt to real-time shifts in business performance, market trends, or strategic pivots. Continuously update forecasts to provide clear visibility into revenue, expenses, and profitability
Support reforecasting efforts during periods of organizational growth, contraction, or shifting priorities
Track and analyze departmental and company-wide spending, comparing actuals to budget and identifying variances, trends, and anomalies
Monitor short- and long-term cash flow, ensuring sufficient liquidity to meet operational and strategic needs
Enter, validate, and reconcile data within reporting tools or financial systems to ensure accuracy and consistency across internal reports

Required

7-10 years of experience as a Controller or experience in a similar role
Experience managing or overseeing month-end close, financial reporting, and audits
Ability to develop, maintain, and improve forecasting and budgeting processes
Experience with cash flow management, working capital optimization, and scenario planning
Responsive, professional, and timely in communications with internal teams
Must have a computer, stable internet connection, and professional E&O insurance

Preferred

Preferred experience within Professional Services, IT, Marketing, Construction, and Consumer Goods industries
Candidates should operate as a 1099 independent contractor and have their own LLC (preferred)
