Ascent Engineering Group, Inc. is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer I (PE) responsible for leading technical aspects of engineering projects. This role involves providing expert-level technical guidance, ensuring designs meet client expectations and regulatory requirements, and mentoring junior staff.

Responsibilities

Lead the development of engineering designs for complex projects, providing technical oversight and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
Prepare detailed engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project goals
Provide technical guidance to project teams, reviewing drawings, specifications, and calculations to ensure that designs are feasible, accurate, and compliant
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate engineering systems into architectural or construction projects, ensuring seamless coordination with other design disciplines
Mentor and support junior engineers, providing technical leadership and fostering professional development within the team
Conduct quality control reviews at key project stages, ensuring that all deliverables meet internal and client standards for accuracy and technical precision
Participate in client meetings and presentations, providing expert technical input and ensuring that client expectations are met
Oversee construction administration tasks, including reviewing submittals, conducting site visits, and resolving technical issues during construction
Perform all other duties as assigned
Work collaboratively and effectively with clients and colleagues, including cross-functional teams, peers, direct reports, and leadership, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment
Adapt to changing business needs and priorities, demonstrating flexibility in taking on new responsibilities and adjusting to evolving challenges

Required

Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or SE Licensure
Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited university
7-10 years of experience in engineering design and project management

Preferred

Experience in fuels projects is highly preferred, and experience in building and industrial design is a plus
Candidates should be familiar with federal project design and reviewing procedures
Ability to select and utilize various structural design software as needed for different projects, such as RISA, RAM, Tedds, CAESAR, etc
