Drafter - Transmission Line

WSP is a leading engineering and professional services firm, currently seeking a Drafter to join their Power & Energy Overhead Transmission Line Department in St. Louis, Missouri. The Drafter will assist in developing CADD design skills, generate design phase deliverables, and ensure quality standards are met for various drafting assignments.

Responsibilities

Develop working knowledge of Client/WSP CAD Standards and Compliance
Adhere to WSP’s QA/QC procedure requiring upmost personal accountability to enhance the project team’s success
Maintain a high level of drafting quality and efficiency in alignment with project scope and budget
Develop an understanding in both AutoCAD and MicroStation to support project requirements, which include: Vicinity Maps, Structure Outlines, Plan and Profiles, Phasing Drawings, Route Maps, Foundation Drawings, Structure Assembly Drawings, Permit and Crossing Drawings, Load and Design Drawings
Through drafting assignments and project work, seek to gain a transmission line understanding beyond just the redline mark-ups
Potentially travel to client offices/field/vendor facilities as needed
Work within Bentley’s ProjectWise document management system to perform workflow of drawings and check print processes
Complete training on assigned tasks
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs

Required

High School Diploma
0-2 years' experience
AutoCAD 2020-2025 experience
Adobe PDF creation
Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously
Time management and organizational skills are essential
Must be flexible to changes in work assignments as changes occur in project needs
Must be able to self-check own work for completeness and accuracy
Able to read and interpret drawings and drawing mark-ups
Able to use architectural and engineering scale to read and create drawings
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Ability to work schedules is conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek
Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements

Preferred

Associate's Degree in closely related discipline is preferred
Experience with AutoCAD
Experience with MicroStation is a plus
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products
Good background in basic mathematics
Experience working with 3D drafting and detailing is a plus
Bluebeam Revu experience is a plus
Working knowledge of survey coordinate systems is a plus
Practical intern or utility industry experience is preferred
