The role involves building relationships with shippers, managing freight execution, and tracking performance metrics to drive sales and growth.

Responsibilities
Build and expand relationships with shippers and decision-makers
Prospect and develop new freight opportunities weekly
Convert leads into long-term accounts by providing real solutions
Grow wallet share by offering additional modes and services
Quote loads and projects with accuracy and confidence
Manage freight execution from pickup through delivery
Coordinate with internal operations, carriers, and overseas partners
Troubleshoot issues calmly and professionally when they come up
Ensure compliance and documentation are handled correctly (especially for hazmat / international freight)
Track daily activity and pipeline like a business owner
Monitor key performance metrics such as:
Calls / outreach volume
Quotes sent
New customers onboarded
Gross profit per load
Margin performance
Weekly close rate & follow-ups
Qualification
Required
Proven freight experience
Existing customers / a book of business
A track record of consistent production
Valid U.S. Driver's License
Willingness to work from our NJ office if local (strongly preferred)
Has an entrepreneurial mindset
Works with urgency
Is disciplined and organized
Can manage freight from quote → booking → delivery
Tracks the numbers, follows up, and builds pipeline consistently
A true self-starter who doesn't need hand-holding
Organized and process-driven (you track quotes, follow-ups, and KPIs)
Motivated by performance and building income through effort + consistency
Calm under pressure and able to solve problems fast
Confident and professional with shippers, carriers, and internal teams
A strong communicator who can build trust quickly
Preferred
Freight brokerage or freight forwarding experience preferred
Existing shipper relationships / book of business is a major plus
Familiarity with: TL / LTL / drayage / intermodal
Ocean import/export
Hazmat compliance (preferred)
Project cargo / oversized shipments (preferred)
Background in Supply Chain, International Business, or Operations is a plus
