Responsibilities

Create designs per company procedures, design standards, and client specifications

Develop sketches, models, and engineering evaluations of new automation

Detail part and assembly drawings as needed

Research to gather necessary information to help make improvements to designs

Provide support during the building and installation processes to ensure the machine is built properly to design specifications

Update processes and procedures for the mechanical design team as directed

Create ECO packages as directed by engineering and manufacturing

Create print packages to be released to the purchasing department

Maintain existing models and drawings including revisions

Keep the supervisor informed of all pertinent information

Communicate ideas to ensure successful designs for current and future growth

Research and help gather necessary information to develop or improve design

Support the Forpak operations team as needed with different production tasks

Reverse engineer parts and assemblies

Adhere to company policies, safety standards, and housekeeping practices

All other related duties as assigned

Required

4-year engineering degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Computer experience and knowledge using SolidWorks, and Microsoft Office programs – Outlook, Excel, and Word

Possess a general understanding of sheet metal fabrication, machining, weldments, and electrical/pneumatical controls

1 - 4 years' relevant work experience designing industry-specific products, preferably conveyors

Lift up to 30 pounds

Ability to understand and follow instructions in English

Able to answer questions during evenings and weekends with service tech and customers, as needed

Preferred

Experience working with external references, equations and templates in Solidworks
