Mechanical Engineer I

Trimitron Corporation is seeking a Mechanical Engineer I to provide on-site support at Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific’s Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) Division in Virginia Beach. The ideal candidate will bring entry level expertise in mechanical engineering design, testing, and documentation, while meeting strict clearance requirements.

Responsibilities

Conduct independent research and analysis of customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application
Perform thermal analysis of components and lead Environmental Qualification Testing (EQT) in accordance with Military Standard procedures
Develop and maintain technical drawings and documentation packages to support engineering deliverables
Apply advanced knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD and Inventor preferred) to create models and designs
Utilize Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) 3D modeling for performance analysis
Prepare Bills of Material and support cost/quality decision-making processes

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
One (1) to three (3) years of full-time professional experience in the design, development, production, or testing of electronic, electro-mechanical, and/or hydro-electronic equipment
Active Secret Clearance
Proficiency in CAD software
Experience with Bills of Material and cost/quality analysis

Preferred

AutoCAD and Inventor preferred
Strong background in CFD 3D modeling
