Cloud Data Architect

Responsibilities
Leads the work efforts for CTO strategic initiatives and/or technology projects
Drives and leads data/AI initiatives that cross functional agency systems, other IT groups and other state entities that require coordinating, planning, and scheduling during project development and implementation stages
Designs, develop and administers highly scalable data systems with core capabilities across cloud-based provider services
Leads and participates in solution implementation to include – coordinating and solving problems, analyzing systems and procedures, developing or revising existing code; scheduling, testing, installing, and implementing systems; writing or revising standards and procedures
Articulates the current state and desired state of a technical solutions, identifies gaps between the two states, and develops approaches to close any gaps
Oversees the process of developing training for staff prior to implementation of a new technology or data analytics platform
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a Bachelor of Science (BS) or Bachelor of Administration (BA) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis
10+ years of IT experience in global environments, including cloud-based and third-party outsourced components
5+ years of experience architecting, engineering, or developing enterprise IT solutions in cloud and hybrid environments
Experience in two or more areas: Cloud Data Architecture, Data Intelligence & AI/ML Solutions, Infrastructure Services, Database Technologies
Experience with at least three of the following domains: Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP), Advanced Analytics & AI/ML, Data Management & Governance, Infrastructure & Security, Applications & Systems Integration
5+ years of experience as an Enterprise Architect or Data Architect
Knowledge and hands-on experience of the limitations and capabilities of computer systems, information technology equipment, applicable programming languages, computer hardware and software, and computer operating systems
Knowledge of new cloud technologies and the analytical services available from the major cloud services providers
Knowledge of AI services and configuration required to set up the service available from major cloud services providers
Knowledge of databases, such as Snowflake, Oracle, and NoSQL data stores, e.g. Postgres
Knowledge of cloud delivery models: PaaS, SaaS, IaaS
Knowledge of agile (scrum) methodology and scrum ceremonies
Knowledge of cloud-based services for AWS, Microsoft Azure or GCP
Strong knowledge of data pipelines, ETL processes, and big data frameworks
Strong knowledge in data governance, security, and compliance in cloud environments
Knowledge of cloud-native AI services (e.g., Azure AI, AWS SageMaker, Google Vertex AI)
Strong technical writing and diagraming skills, including proficiency with modeling and mapping tools (e.g., Visio, Erwin), the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and MS Project
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience as a technology architect for software development, data analytics, performance management system, or data warehousing project
Skill analyzing technology systems capabilities, limitations, defects, and business problems to draw evidence-based conclusions and devise innovative solutions
Ability to work under pressure and successfully manage multiple overlapping deadlines, and able to handle multiple cross-agency projects
Ability to produce reliable, accurate, high-quality results
Ability to be adaptable and learn quickly
Ability to deliver work within defined schedules, cost and quality
Ability to coordinate multiple assignments/projects, set priorities, and meet deadlines
Ability to communicate with a high level of effectiveness both verbally and in written formats
Ability to lead and provide direction to team members
Ability to lead the creation of best practices and procedures
Proven ability to design AI-driven data architectures and integrate machine learning models into enterprise solutions
Preferred
Experience with JIRA software
Prior experience in the Healthcare industry
