Responsibilities

Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson

Performs a variety of service and patient care activities that support the care team in providing quality healthcare to each patient. Services include, but are not limited to, patient transports and positioning, transport of specimens to the lab and retrieval of blood bank products, equipment set up including specialty services such as orthopedics

Responsible for the cleanliness, stocking, and upkeep of all Operating/procedural room(s) and daily supply orders

May participate in daily/weekly equipment checks including, but not limited to, fluid warmers, sterile storage area temp/humidity and eye wash stations

Participates in coordinating equipment repair in collaboration with Biomed team and Vendors

Participates in the onboarding and training of new staff members to the role of surgical service attendant including positioning, proper body mechanics, general sterile technique concepts, OR/procedural room cleaning protocols, equipment use and set ups, room and table set ups for the varied surgeons and procedures

Accepts additional duties with a positive attitude and is supportive of the unit

Required

High school diploma or equivalent required

AHA BLS Card required

Prior Health Care Experience Preferred

One year previous hospital perioperative experience preferred
