Metallurgy Special Projects Intern

Responsibilities
Assisting the Metallurgist in my group with deep-dive technical investigations to determine characterize anomalies found during ultrasonic testing
Use their characterization skills and metallurgy knowledge to understand what they are looking at, and develop a plan for additional testing that needs to be run
Assisting the metallurgist responsible for JENQC (an aerospace regulatory committee) with answering technically-intensive questions relevant to their work
Assist with new alloy development projects
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program majoring in Materials Science & Engineering
Minimum 3.0 GPA
Candidates must have basic metallography skills
Willing and able to work on-site at our Reading, PA location
Applicants MUST be US Citizens or Green Card Holders due to Carpenter's government contracts
