Senior Marketing Engineer

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership and mentoring for marketing in power systems and all related SEL products
Technically review marketing collateral including emails, webpages, presentations, videos, social posts, etc
Participate and present at SEL marketing and sales activities, industry technical meetings, and conferences. Serves as the technical lead for tradeshows, conferences, or seminar activities
Collaborate with cross-company groups defining what our next generation of offerings would need to include for long term customer success
Researching market offerings, new technologies, standards changes, regulatory shifts, or other such factors
Contribute to technical publications or videos used to teach and promote our offerings

Required

Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline
10+ years of experience with electrical power systems with a focus in protective relays and power system operating principles, MBA or other relevant experience highly valued
Experience in teaching others about the electrical power system concepts
Ability to work independently, accepting ownership of assigned responsibilities
Deep level of understanding of zones of protection, instrument transformers, and protective relaying schemes
Understanding the driving decision factors for power system equipment selection focusing on protection and control hardware and software
Experience reviewing power system drawings including one-lines, three-lines, AC schematics, DC schematics, wiring diagrams, for use in marketing collateral
Demonstrated understanding of each stage of the settings creation process, calculations, and delivery of high-quality work and how that work might impact purchasing decisions
Experience with electric power transmission, distribution, and/or generation systems
Experience being a part of and/or leading a project team
Willing to travel, roughly 25% expected
