Development Officer

KenCrest is a premier employer focused on philanthropy and relationships. They are seeking a Development Officer who will manage donor relationships and create meaningful experiences for mid-level donors to enhance engagement and support for the organization’s mission.

Responsibilities

Manage a portfolio of mid-level donors and develop engagement strategies to retain donors, increase giving, and identify potential major gift prospects
Build and maintain strong donor relationships through calls, emails, handwritten notes, and in-person or virtual meetings
Serve as a primary point of contact for donors, responding to inquiries and sharing timely and relevant updates
Plan and implement stewardship and recognition efforts that communicate impact and show appreciation for donor support
Plan and execute donor focused events, both in person and virtual, in collaboration with the events and program teams
Work closely with the Chief Philanthropy Officer and colleagues across fundraising, programs, finance, communications, and events
Document donor interactions and next steps in the CRM to support effective moves management
Monitor portfolio performance, including donor retention and giving growth
Use donor feedback and data to refine outreach and engagement strategies
Contribute to team projects and other fundraising efforts as needed

Required

A minimum of three to five years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor relations, or development, including proven experience working with mid-level donors
Experience planning and executing donor events and donor engagement activities
Familiarity with moves management and donor segmentation strategies
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build authentic donor relationships
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Experience using a CRM or donor database to track donor activity, manage portfolios, and support effective follow up
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines at the same time
A collaborative, team oriented approach and comfort working across departments
A genuine interest in KenCrest's mission and the people we serve

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in business, communications, or a related field preferred
