Senior HR Generalist, People Operations
Hyperfine, Inc. is a groundbreaking health technology company redefining brain imaging with its innovative Swoop® system. They are seeking a Senior HR Generalist to manage day-to-day HR operations and recruiting, ensuring compliance and efficiency in people processes.

Responsibilities
Serve as the primary coordinator for recruiting activities, including interview scheduling across candidates, hiring managers, and interview panels
Manage candidate communications, follow-ups, and status updates to ensure a timely and professional experience
Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate records in the ATS
Support resume screening and initial candidate reviews for select roles; assist with sourcing for priority roles as needed
Coordinate offer logistics, background checks, and onboarding handoff
Ensure a consistent, high-quality candidate experience across assigned roles
Own onboarding and offboarding processes for employees
Coordinate new hire paperwork, system access, and orientation logistics with cross-functional partners
Ensure smooth employee exits, including documentation, system updates, and handoff to Payroll & Benefits, IT, and other downstream teams
Serve as a primary point of contact for employee HR questions and requests
Support day-to-day HR administration, including job changes, promotions, transfers, and employee data updates
Maintain accurate employee lifecycle records and HR documentation across systems
Coordinate and administer employee leaves of absence in partnership with the Senior Payroll & Benefits Manager and the third-party leave vendor (Tilt)
Serve as the operational liaison between employees, managers, Tilt, and internal stakeholders
Ensure leave administration is accurate, timely, and compliant with federal, state, and local regulations, including California and Connecticut
Communicate clearly with employees and managers regarding leave processes, documentation, and timelines
Track leave status and maintain complete and accurate records
Own operational execution of HR compliance processes, including: Employment eligibility verification (I-9 processing and recordkeeping)
Personnel file maintenance and retention
Required employee documentation, notices, and trainings
Support audit readiness and compliance efforts (e.g., SOX, HITRUST, SOC 2, FDA, and other regulatory audits, as applicable)
Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, IT, and Operations to ensure employment-related documentation is accurate and accessible
Support public-company HR internal controls related to people processes
Proactively identify and flag compliance, documentation, or process risks for escalation
Provide operational support for HR programs and cycles, including performance management (system setup, tracking, communications, documentation, and follow-up)
Independently manage routine employee relations matters (e.g., attendance, conduct, policy interpretation), partnering with the Senior Director, People on complex, sensitive, or high-risk issues
Support Health & Safety and Workers’ Compensation administration
Continuously identify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, and scalability of HR processes
Prepare reports or presentations for People leadership as needed
Perform other related duties and projects as assigned, including cross-training on Payroll & Benefits processes
Maintain working knowledge of current HR and People Operations trends
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience
Typically requires 7–10+ years of progressive HR Generalist or HR Operations experience
Hands-on experience supporting recruiting coordination and employee lifecycle processes
Direct experience administering employee leaves, including partnership with third-party vendors
Experience executing HR compliance processes across multiple U.S. states
Strong employee-facing service mindset with experience in high-volume or shared-services HR environments
Proven ability to analyze issues, exercise sound judgment, and handle sensitive and confidential information
Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws
Ability to interpret, apply, and clearly communicate HR policies and procedures
Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize competing responsibilities
Ability to operate independently, take initiative, and balance speed with compliance
Demonstrated ability to build trust and work effectively across all levels of the organization
Strong business acumen. Understands how HR policies, procedures, and initiatives align with an organization's strategy, goals and objectives
Strong attention to detail and process discipline
Comfort operating in a lean, fast-moving, and regulated environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred
Experience in public companies or other regulated environments (life sciences or med-tech preferred)
Exposure to audit readiness or cross-functional compliance efforts
Familiarity with HRIS and ATS platforms (e.g., UKG, Greenhouse)
Experience supporting multi-site, hybrid, and field-based workforces
