Responsibilities

Applies comprehensive knowledge to solve complex problems by interpreting manufacturers’ manuals, or similar documents
Inspects, analyzes, troubleshoots, and maintains aircraft electrical and environmental (E&E) systems, subsystems, components, and associated test equipment
Advises on problems operating and maintaining aircraft E&E systems, associated electronic components, subsystems, and test equipment
Receives technical guidance, as required from a supervisor or higher-level technician, and is reviewed for compliance with technical guidance and accepted practices
Maintains repairs, troubleshoots, modifies and installs various types of electronic equipment and related devices such as electronic transmitting and receiving equipment (e.g., radar, radio, television, telecommunication, sonar, and navigational aids); personal and main frame computers and terminals
Applies technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions, and applies skill in restoring equipment operation, evaluates performance and reliability of prototype or production mode, and recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance
Reads and interprets USAF technical orders, service bulletins, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and best method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning systems

Required

Minimum of 6 years of C-130 Electrical and Environmental Systems (E&E, 2A6X6) experience
Operational knowledge and ability to inspect, troubleshoot and repair aircraft fire and overheat detection system
Operational knowledge and ability to inspect, troubleshoot and repair aircraft bleed air systems
Operational knowledge and ability to inspect, troubleshoot and repair aircraft air conditioning, environmental, and cabin pressurization systems
Operational knowledge and ability to inspect, troubleshoot and repair aircraft anti-skid braking system
Operational knowledge and ability to operate the Data Transfer and Diagnostic System (DTADS)
Proficient with using USAF Technical Orders and documenting AFTO 781 Forms
Ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance

Preferred

Familiar with the Isochronal / Letter Check inspection process
Previously performed as 7-Level or Equivalent, Electrical and Environmental Systems Technician with Three (3) years of C-130J flight line aircraft experience
Experience with inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing aircraft avionics and electrical systems (GAC, Com/Nav, EW, Sensors)
Experience in fabricating, installing, routing, terminating, soldering, and repairing electrical wiring harnesses or a variety of electrical components, and equipment associated with aircraft systems functionality
Knowledge of HAZMAT/HAZWASTE, corrosion control, inspection/repair, maintenance inspection, aircraft launch and recovery, aircraft servicing, towing, and jacking/shoring of aircraft
