Technical Academy Instructor I

AAON, Inc. is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Technical Instructor to join their team. The instructor will be responsible for developing and delivering curriculum, conducting hands-on training, and assessing student performance in HVAC and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

Develops and delivers curriculum and lesson plans for HVAC, mechanical systems, electrical controls, and thermodynamics principles
Conducts hands-on training sessions and practical demonstrations using industry-standard equipment and tools
Prepares and maintains training materials, equipment, and tools
Assesses and evaluates student performance through exams, assignments, and practical tasks
Stays current with the latest industry trends, technologies, and safety regulations
Collaborate with other internal groups to ensure that all subject matter is accurate
Provides guidance and mentorship to students on their career development
Maintains accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress
Collaborate with colleagues to improve teaching methods and enhance student success
Ensures all training activities comply with safety regulations and standards

Required

Associate's degree in HVAC, or equivalent, from a technical school
EPA 608 and A2L license/certification
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in HVAC, mechanical systems, electrical controls, and thermodynamics
Proven experience in teaching or training in a technical field
Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, mechanical systems, electrical controls, and thermodynamics
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to simplify complex concepts and make them understandable to students
Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with industry advancements
Excellent people skills
Excellent communication skills and comfortable speaking to large groups of people
Passion for teaching and learning
