Responsibilities
Assist with the production and/or review of construction plans for various projects, including residential, commercial, and municipal infrastructure design
Proficient with reviewing/preparing alignments, water and sanitary networks, and profiles
Perform site visits to verify field conditions and monitor construction when directed
Review a full set of construction documents with oversight from the Project Manager
Prepare and design a full set of construction documents with support from Project Manager
Coordinate project design with outside consultants and architects
Prepare quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and bid specifications for CIP projects
Confirm quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and specifications for design performed by outside consultants
Perform site visits to verify field conditions and monitor construction, as needed
Maintain project documentation
Assist in developing and tracking of security deposits for land development projects
Communicate and maintain good communication with coworkers, consultants, municipalities, and developers
Perform quantity takeoffs, shop drawing review, and prepare bid specifications for CIP projects
Perform quality control reviews of design projects
Present projects to clients, agencies, municipalities, and the general public
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
Must have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam (if possible)
1-2 years of water/wastewater experience
Excellent time management skills, organizational, and communication abilities
Ability to maintain a strong sense of focus and confidence under tight deadlines and varying workloads
Proficient in Microsoft Office and CAD software
