Manufacturing Engineer

Responsibilities
Study, analyze and design methods, procedures, processes, layouts, fixtures, and tooling to support process efficiency and product quality
Identify and recommend resolutions for existing or imminent manufacturing problems, equipment failures, or safety issues
Recommend cost reduction initiatives and manufacturing process improvements
Participate in the review and evaluation of product design changes
Coordinate with support groups to ensure manufacturability; process capabilities and capacities are developed to support new products
Develop, monitor and report on project schedules and establish Standard Operating Procedures for new and updated manufacturing equipment and systems
Collaborate with quality, production, and engineering teams to troubleshoot production and equipment issues
Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurring issues
Develop manufacturing instructions or procedures and train assemblers and operators in machine operations, processes or assembly applications
Responsible for following all Vaupell policies and standard operating procedures and safety practices
Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with machines and equipment that utilize Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) in current manufacturing operations
Develop and implement automation projects using PLCs, including programming and integration as new automation initiatives

Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in engineering+ 2 years of directly related manufacturing engineering experience or related technical discipline
Strong understanding of manufacturing methods, materials, equipment, and quality systems
Requires knowledge of design techniques, tools and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models
Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma tools required
Candidate must be comfortable working hands-on on the manufacturing floor
Ability to read, speak, understand and follow instructions in English
Must be able to wear and properly use the required personal protective equipment
Candidates must be a 'US Person' (i.e. US Citizen or Permanent Resident) to ensure Vaupell's compliance with ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and EAR (Export Administration Regulations)
Preferred
PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) certification or experience is preferred. Candidates without PLC certification or experience will complete PLC training as part of their onboarding
CAD proficiency/design background is a plus
