The role involves overseeing financial reporting, developing financial controls, and managing a high-performing construction accounting team to ensure compliance and alignment with business objectives.

Responsibilities

Lead a high-performing construction accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement

Develop and implement financial controls and best practices for the construction industry to mitigate risks and enhance compliance

Collaborate with senior leadership to drive financial strategies that align with business objectives

Oversee job costing, contract compliance, revenue recognition and overall project financial performance, ensuring alignment with company objectives

Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, adhering to GAAP standards

Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes

Oversee audits, and regulatory requirements for the construction division

Leverage Procore and NetSuite to enhance financial workflows and reporting

Continuously assess and refine financial processes to improve efficiency and scalability

Drive automation and technology adoption to streamline operations

Manage cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning for all construction projects

Supervise the monthly revenue recognition process by leading a team of construction project accountants that own the financial details of their respective jobs which includes the executed contract values, projected final costs, customer billings to date and construction costs to date

Work cross-functionally with Executives, project managers, procurement, and operations teams to ensure financial alignment

Ensure timely and accurate billing/collection of customer construction pay applications

Ensure timely and accurate processing/payment of subcontractor pay applications and vendors invoices
