The Wisconsin Department of Corrections is responsible for providing electronic monitoring services to various divisions and agencies. The Corrections Communications Operator plays a crucial role in operating the statewide Corrections Electronic Monitoring system, which tracks offender movements and provides detailed information to relevant stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Receive and provide information, directives and messages to stakeholders over phone and electronic communications

Clearly hear and understand words over the phone with distractions, distortions and background noise, with or without accommodation

View and read multiple computer monitors at the same time, with or without accommodations for extended periods of time

Be ordered to work additional 8-hour shifts

Required

Education, training, and/or experience working with computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suites (Word, Excel, Outlook) and utilizing them to create reports, analyze data, and data entry

Education, training, and/or experience interpreting and communicating policies, procedures, and information to various audiences (supervisor, law enforcement, public, etc.)

Excellent customer service, problem solving, and communication skills
