They are seeking a Patient Financial Specialist responsible for patient collections, payment plans, and managing bankruptcy accounts while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.

Responsibilities
Patient Collections: Calling on outstanding patient accounts and setting up and managing payment plans
Uploading and maintaining patient accounts in collection agency software
Working collection agency patient disputes
Bankruptcy
Managing bankruptcy cases in Athena
Follow OMG Policies and procedures including HIPAA, OSHA and PCI DSS. Maintain and follow strict privacy, confidentiality, and safety protocols. Comply with all government regulations around the following:
Work within guidance of Billing Compliance Plan and billing guidelines
Other Administrative Duties as assigned
Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Deliver faxes to billing department staff member when appropriate
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or High School Equivalency
Strong computer skills required
5 years collections experience in healthcare
2+ years billing experience
Preferred
Some college – medical, business, accounting focus
Bilingual
EMR experience preferred – Athenahealth practice management system
