Responsibilities

Responsible for designs, CAD drawings, and specifications on assigned projects, under the guidance/direction of Project Manager
Works with other engineers on a project team, maintaining effective communication with project team members, other departments, suppliers, and clients
Coordinates with drafters, designers, and staff engineers within project team
Completes drawings/project responsibilities within scope, budget, and schedule
Reviews drawings for completeness, accuracy, and constructability
Develops conceptual and basic engineering documents including studies, design criteria, equipment specifications, etc
Utilizes computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks
Observes safety and security procedures

Qualification

Professional Engineering LicenseMicroStation Open Roads DesignDesign engineering experienceAutoCAD proficiencyProject management methodologiesTeam coordinationCommunication skillsProblem-solving skills

Required

Professional Engineering License (PE) in Illinois
BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution
6+ years of experience in design engineering, preferably IDOT or other roadway transportation projects
Proficiency in MicroStation Open Roads Design
Ability to work cross-functionally and coordinate with others on larger, multidiscipline projects
Proficiency in standard engineering procedures and project management methodologies and techniques
Working knowledge of computer-aided design software and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering required (i.e., AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Valid driver's license
Local or regional travel (i.e. job sites) anticipated based upon business need
