Responsibilities
Managing the day-to-day operations of the organization's accounting functions
Recommending and implementing internal controls, policies and procedures
Preparing financial reports
Managing department staffing, process development and documentation, and project oversight
Managing and developing the accounting team to achieve department objectives
Determining staffing needs, setting goals, planning workloads and resolving issues
Interviewing, selecting, coaching and evaluating the performance of all direct reports
Promoting a constructive work environment
Completing in-depth analysis of financial data and preparing financial reports and projections
Participating in the development and management of Fiscal Services department budgets and the Health System annual budget process
Qualification
Required
Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls with proficiency in accounting software
Strong organizational, leadership, time-management, and communication skills with a high level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail
Ability to complete in-depth analysis of financial data and prepare financial reports and projections
Advanced analytic and problem-solving skills with the ability to formulate and communicate recommendations for improvement
Participate in the development and management of Fiscal Services department budgets, as well as the Health System annual budget process
PC literacy required with MS Office (word, excel and power point)
Minimum: Bachelor's degree in accounting or closely related field
Minimum: 5 years of accounting and financial reporting
Demonstrated experience in supervisory roles with experience in the training and development of staff
Previous supervisory experience, including training team members
Ability to commute to Geneva, NY
Preferred
CPA or CPA eligible
Experience in a health care organization
