Responsibilities

Use CAD to prepare engineering plans, sections and details starting from sketches and other general design information
Compile data and perform dimensional and routine calculations required for the preparation of drawings
Become familiar with various standards and codes. Apply codes to check compliance of designs with applicable criteria

Required

Must be enrolled in an Civil Engineering curriculum at an accredited college or university and have completed 3+ year of studies with an emphasis in Structural Engineering
Must have completed courses such as structural analysis, steel or concrete design, geotechnical engineering, etc

Preferred

Enrolled or plan to enroll in graduate studies in the field of Structural Engineering at an accredited college or university
Proficient in CAD software such as MicroStation or AutoCAD
Working knowledge of structural analysis software
Previous internship experience in bridge design, roadway design, or construction inspection
Experience with AASHTO LRFD or AREMA codes
