Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

Lead and develop a team of engineers and technicians responsible for the design, development, and optimization of vacuum tubes, electron guns, RF circuits, and high-voltage subsystems
Drive innovation and excellence in next-generation vacuum electronics and related technologies
Manage technical projects from concept through production, ensuring on-time delivery and performance compliance
Oversee staffing, resource planning, and long-term capability development within the engineering organization
Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, manufacturing, and quality to ensure smooth product integration
Support proposal efforts, cost estimates, and technical input for new business and R&D programs
Foster a culture of collaboration, technical rigor, and continuous improvement across the engineering function

Required

Preferred

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field
5+ years of experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams
Strong background in vacuum systems, electron optics, or high-voltage electronics
Proven ability to mentor, motivate, and grow technical talent
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to balance technical and programmatic priorities
U.S. Citizenship required (ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance)
Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Engineering or Physics
10+ years of experience in vacuum electronics or related advanced technology development
Demonstrated success leading R&D programs through production transition
Experience in cost estimation, proposal support, and long-term engineering strategy
