They are seeking a highly-motivated intern to join their Survey Discipline, where the intern will assist technical staff on projects, transform field data into CAD drawings, and gain real-life experience in consulting.

Responsibilities

Assist technical staff on day-to-day projects in their respective discipline
Transform field collected electronic files into Autodesk Civil 3D (CAD) produced drawings
Work with more senior staff to produce ALTA, Boundary, Topographic Surveys, As-Built drawings, maps, Specific Purpose Surveys, Plot plans and Subdivision Record Plats by using Autodesk Civil 3D
Reduce field notes from field collected data into survey/civil grade base maps
Will also work in the field on control, topographic surveys, and pipeline surveys as Instrument Man of a one, two or three-person field crew
May also perform some office duties, including data reduction, field note reduction, calculations, data checks and staking computations using survey computer programs and AutoCAD
Cut and remove brush and undergrowth for line of sight
Performs mathematical calculations and field checking of field data
Reads and understands plans and specifications
Work alongside junior and senior level engineers to execute project deadlines
Network with current Colliers Engineering & Design professionals and gain real-life experience in consulting

Qualification

Required

Pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, CADD, Engineering Technologies, or Civil Engineering
Must have reliable transportation to the office/field
A valid driver's license and good driving record required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Possess solid problem-solving skills
Must be able to work in a high-paced environment
Strong computer literacy, to include MS Office
Be able to carry up to forty pounds of equipment up flights of stairs
Be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions

Preferred

Basic understanding of AutoCAD
