Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day payroll and timekeeping operations, ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely pay cycles across a highly unionized workforce

Provide leadership and oversight to a team of approximately 30 employees through Managers and Supervisors across payroll accounting and timekeeping functions

Assess, document, and guide current payroll and timekeeping processes, identifying risks and recommending operational and process improvements

Serve as a subject-matter resource during a payroll system implementation by providing consultation, continuity, and operational insight

Partner closely with senior finance leadership to maintain compliance, resolve issues, and ensure uninterrupted payroll operations during the transition

Required

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in payroll, accounting, finance, or a related field

8+ years of experience leading payroll and/or timekeeping operations, including responsibility for large, multi-level union teams

Demonstrated experience working in highly unionized environments with multiple collective bargaining agreements

Strong operational knowledge of payroll, timekeeping, scheduling, and compliance, with the ability to guide teams without performing data entry

Proven leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, including experience interacting with union employees and representatives

Experience with payroll and timekeeping systems such as Kronos, Dynamics AX, or similar platforms

Preferred

System implementation experience is a plus
