Responsibilities

Help build and scale Motion’s Android app as we grow from a consumer product into a full B2B work suite
Focus on deep native Android development using Kotlin, with an emphasis on performance, reliability, and platform-level integrations
Work on making the app fast and responsive at scale
Build features that leverage the Android platform directly — including voice calling, SMS, notifications, background execution, and home screen widgets
Have significant ownership over technical decisions
Collaborate closely with backend, product, and design teams to ship high-impact mobile features used by hundreds of thousands of users

Required

Deep native Android development experience using Kotlin
Strong understanding of performance, reliability, and platform-level integrations
Ability to make the app fast and responsive at scale
Experience building features that leverage the Android platform directly, including voice calling, SMS, notifications, background execution, and home screen widgets
Ownership of projects and ability to lead them to completion while dealing with ambiguity
Ability to find the right balance between speed and quality
Fast learner who can quickly familiarize with a complex product and code base
Comfortable with tackling any part of the stack or learning new unfamiliar technology
Strong understanding of how to create the most impact and focus on solving customer problems
Effective collaboration with other talented engineers
Ability to work in an environment where the best ideas win
