Start in 2026 WinterNEOGOV is seeking an IT Intern to join the City of Allen's Information Technology team. The intern will support various IT initiatives, gaining hands-on experience in cybersecurity, infrastructure, and application projects while collaborating with IT professionals.

Responsibilities
Communicate with City staff, support teams, and QA to resolve technical issues related to office equipment and software
Conduct research to support technology solutions or projects and effectively communicate findings to IT leadership
Assist in designing and implementing features in both existing and new IT products
Develop and deliver training sessions for applications, mobile systems, or other IT implementations, and document City technology standards and processes
Prepare equipment for new employees and help manage the purchase and tracking of equipment and software licenses
Participate in site visits to various City properties to support solution implementations
Qualification
Required
High school diploma required
Must have completed at least two semesters and be currently enrolled in a degree program at an accredited 4-year college or university in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, Management Information Systems, or a related technology field
A current transcript must be attached to your application
Valid Texas Driver's License

Must successfully pass all pre-employment screenings, including CJIS and fingerprint checks, and comply with state and federal Criminal Justice Information Security (CJIS) standards
Intermediate proficiency in reading technical documents, journals, manuals, and other reference materials
Intermediate skills in practical applications of mathematics, including fractions, percentages, and ratios
Intermediate ability to prepare clear and concise reports, business letters, and summaries with proper grammar and format
