Colliers Engineering & Design is looking for a Civil/Site Engineering Intern to join their team in the McLean, VA office for Summer 2026. The role involves assisting engineers with project drawings, using AutoCAD Civil 3D software, and evaluating project sites while gaining valuable experience in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.

Responsibilities

Read and review project drawings and plans

Confer with engineers about preparing plans

Use AutoCAD Civil 3D software under the charge of Engineers

Evaluate pre-construction field conditions

Observe project sites and evaluate contractors’ work to detect problems with a design

Prepare reports and document project activities and data

Prepare analyses from collected data

Set up and help maintain project files and records

Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

Strong computer literacy, to include MS Office

Other duties as assigned

Qualification

Civil EngineeringHydrologyAutoCAD Civil 3DHydraulicsHydroCADLand DevelopmentComputer LiteracyEnglish ProficiencyCommunication Skills

Required

Currently attending a college or university in the United States and pursuing a degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or a related degree

Hydrology type work or coursework and Hydraulics coursework

Junior or senior standing (going into Junior or Senior year)

Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions

Preferred

AutoCAD experience preferred

Civil 3D experience preferred

HydroCAD experience a plus

Students with some prior internship experience are preferred, but any candidates who apply will be reviewed and considered for different roles
