Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day store operations, including opening and closing procedures and point-of-sale (POS) system operations to ensure seamless transactions
Serve as the primary POC for the merchandise store, coordinating with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams to support inventory needs and promotional activities
Receive, inspect, and organize incoming inventory shipments, verifying accuracy against orders and reporting any discrepancies
Run store operations efficiently, including monitoring sales performance, preparing daily reports, and troubleshooting minor operational issues
Manage the backroom area by organizing stock, conducting regular inventory audits, and maintaining a clean and efficient storage environment
Restock the sales floor regularly to ensure products are attractively displayed, well-merchandised, and available for customers, following visual merchandising guidelines
Provide exceptional customer service by greeting visitors, answering inquiries about products, SpaceX missions, and store policies, and assisting with product recommendations
Handle customer service correspondence, including responding to emails and in-store feedback promptly and professionally
Process returns, exchanges, and refunds in accordance with company policies, ensuring customer satisfaction and accurate record-keeping
Place online orders in on-site lockers for order fulfillment for the Hawthorne site
Maintain store cleanliness and presentation, including dusting displays, organizing fixtures, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards
Monitor inventory levels and sales trends to identify opportunities for restocking or promotions and assist in forecasting future needs
Support loss prevention efforts by being vigilant for theft or irregularities and following established protocols
Participate in staff training sessions to stay updated on new products, company policies, and best practices in retail operations

Required

High school diploma or equivalency certificate
2+ years of professional experience in retail or customer service, including running store operations
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted, stand for extended periods, and perform bending, reaching, and stocking tasks
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed for store operations
Must be willing to work extended hours

Preferred

Associate's degree in business, retail management, or a related field
1-2 years of experience in a high-volume or specialty retail environment, with familiarity in inventory management
Proficiency with POS systems, basic Excel or retail software, and Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with enthusiasm for space exploration
Experience in visual merchandising or product demonstrations
