Strategic Consulting Director

Responsibilities
Serve as a trusted advisor to executive and senior-level leaders and assist them in setting and pursuing Institute strategic priorities, defining organizational goals, and strategic plans
Serve as a thought leader and a subject matter expert in one or more organizational effectiveness competency areas and identify needs for new competency areas including determining methods, tools, standards, and knowledge management
Provide an expert-level understanding of the priorities, operations, and operating models, industry comparisons, organizational strengths, and opportunities of assigned client areas and provide strategic insights, guidance, and support to executive and senior-level leaders in the design and implementation of improvement initiatives
Mentor senior consultants, oversee the development of new team competencies, identify gaps in employee knowledge or competency needed to support future-state processes, and recommend training and development programs
Perform other related duties as assigned
Drive and ensure effective delivery of enterprise-wide Institute-level priority improvement efforts by defining the work needed, assigning and securing needed resources, managing teams, and measuring and communicating progress
Manage multiple projects, complex client relationships, and lead the design, development, and implementation of strategies, programs, processes, and policies that meet project goals and promote the effective utilization of the organization's human capital and physical resources
Lead consulting team resources, external consultants, and campus partner relationships to gather, analyze, and present data that enables executive and senior-level leaders to make informed decisions with predictably positive outcomes
Direct vendor management by scoping work to partner with external consulting firms, selecting the right partner, and managing work quality
Define, track, assess, and communicate the value and impact of projects through value assessment surveys and case study development
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
10+ years of job-related experience
Ability to design and lead projects across all competency areas
Ability to understand expressed and unexpressed client needs, scope projects, plan details, and assign optimal resources to each project
Ability to establish and nurture partnerships and effective working relationships with customers, partners, and stakeholders
Ability to identify and seek needed information
Ability to design and implement assessment of GTSC value
Ability to work within a matrix organization structure
Ability to develop and mentor others
Ability to demonstrate social intelligence and create a team culture of psychological safety
Ability to model Georgia Tech's nine values consistently and effectively
Advanced knowledge of project management best practices
Deep expert knowledge of strategic and operational aspects of assigned client areas
Advanced knowledge of all GTSC organizational effectiveness competency areas
Knowledge of industry trends and innovations in organizational effectiveness in the marketplace
