Legal Counsel - Commercial/Corporate

Responsibilities
Be the trusted advisor managing legal matters and risks related to general commercial and contract law for Siemens Energy’s Gas Services Business, including intellectual property, product liability, procurement, administrative and general corporate law, torts, and claims
Prepare contractual and legal risk analyses and summaries for review and approval by executive management
Draft, review, analyze, modify, and negotiate contractual agreements, including master agreements, plant modernizations, and long-term service contracts covering services for conventional fossil power facilities, nuclear facilities, and control and digital solutions
Proactively assist in mastering business challenges through entrepreneurial thinking, balancing governance requirements with business needs
Maintain and further improve a best-in-class Legal department by advancing process optimization and lean principles to drive efficiency
Foster a culture of ownership, empowerment, transparency, speak-up, and belonging, while collaborating closely within the global LC community and developing training to educate key stakeholders
Qualification
Required
Juris Doctorate is required. Must be admitted to practice law in one or more states in the United States
5+ years' experience in law firm or corporate legal teams, preferably in the Energy industry, industrial controls & software, or related technology field
Demonstrated negotiation skills enabling solution-oriented, customer-focused deals that reduce risk to the company, with experience collaborating in multidisciplinary negotiating teams including Legal, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Proposals, and Project Implementation
Detail-oriented and self-driven, able to manage multiple demands simultaneously, work independently or in groups, and remain resourceful in achieving goals
Flexible and adaptable to changing requirements, schedules, and priorities, with the ability to socialize ideas, make recommendations, and build team consensus to move initiatives forward
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely across all levels of stakeholders, and willingness to travel nationally and internationally up to 15–20%
Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers
