Responsibilities
Responsible for supporting the receipt, custody, issue, safeguarding, accounting for, and, when necessary, the destruction or COMSEC material
Maintenance of up-to-date records and the submission of required accounting reports
Plans and executes Out-Of-Band-Key Transfer (OOBKT) for remote rekey of enterprise encryptors on multiple networks using GEM-X HAIPE Manager. Requires experience in Suite-A and Suite-B network environments, architecture and key material requirements
Reads and interprets complex network drawings and documentation as they relate to cryptographic requirements
Performs hands-on installation, maintenance, configuration and troubleshooting of COMSEC equipment, as required
Programs and operates approved key fill devices
Performs Over-The-Air-Transfer (OTAT) of key material to remote sites
Provides training and COMSEC oversight to local and remote site personnel
Qualification
Required
BA/BS Degree in computer science/systems, information systems/ technology, engineering/engineering technology, software engineering/ programming, management, natural sciences, social sciences, mathematics, Education, English or Literature or business/finance
Minimum of 4+ years of previous hands-on experience working with COMSEC, of which at least one year must be specialized
Experience with utilizing HAIPE management software such as Viasat VINE network system management software, General Dynamics GEM One Enterprise Encryptor Management software, or others
Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) Certification
Must be a graduate of the COMSEC Custodian Course OR component equivalent course
Understanding of US Air Force IT operational and technical requirements and an advanced understanding of US Air Force IT applications and network systems
Demonstrated ability to work independently or under only general direction
Active DoD SECRET security clearance required
Preferred
Experience as a COMSEC Responsible Officer (CRO) in a USAF or other military capacity
Demonstrated experience with COMSEC account administration/management
Knowledgeable in the mission and OCONUS operational requirements of the US Air Force
Knowledge of or experience with remote cryptographic materials management systems such as Ultra Electronics Remote Cryptographic Management System (RCMS)
