Responsibilities
Work with the Commercialization and Business Development Teams to develop and commercialize specialty flexible packaging solutions for various key accounts
Lead technical initiatives to develop new material systems be it polymer films, papers, foils, multilayer laminates, etc
Serve as a senior customer interface to build high trust relationships with clients
Convert customer requirements and ambitions into actual production scale products aligned with internal specifications and business priorities
Lead new product development projects from conception through commercialization
Plan and execute pilot-scale trials for technologies such as hot filling/sterilization and retort sterilization for food products
Maintain thorough intellectual property records
Travel domestically or potentially even internationally to client manufacturing sites or headquarters in order to support new product development and customer technical service needs
Qualification
Required
BS Degree in Materials Science, Packaging Engineering, Food Science, or other highly relevant STEM field
10+ years of experience in flexible packaging development engineering
5+ years of experience in hot-fill packaging, retort packaging, liquid packaging, and/or hard to hold packaging products
Subject matter expertise in material properties for OPP, PET, paper products, barrier films, laminates, lids, and foils
Experience with managing key accounts and other customer relationships
