Optomi, in partnership with their premier client in the financial services industry, is building a new Site Reliability Engineering team and is seeking senior SRE engineers. The role focuses on ensuring the reliability, performance, and availability of applications while collaborating with various teams to improve observability, automation, and overall system health.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain automation to streamline operations, reduce manual effort, and improve system efficiency

Partner with observability engineers to deliver actionable insights into application and infrastructure health and performance

Foster a collaborative team culture and support professional development

Ensure scalable and repeatable deployments using CI/CD pipelines with GitHub and Harness, and infrastructure as code (IaC) with Terraform

Build automation and operational runbooks primarily using Python

Manage container orchestration platforms and related cloud-native services

Drive reliability improvements through Service Level Objectives (SLOs), error budgets, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) aligned with business goals

Design and implement observability enhancements using tools such as Dynatrace and CloudWatch

Lead major incident responses, coordinate stakeholder communication, and drive problem management to prevent recurrence

Conduct blameless post-incident reviews and promote continuous improvement

Collaborate cross-functionally to embed SRE principles into application design and operations

Participate in architectural reviews, providing guidance on reliability and scalability

Experience with DevOps tooling such as GitHub, Harness, and Dynatrace

Experience building self-healing systems and automated remediation workflows

Strong problem-solving skills with a proven track record of improving system reliability and performance

Strong experience using Terraform for AWS infrastructure as code

Proficiency in Python scripting and automation; familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack)

Deep knowledge of container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes/EKS)

Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences

Preferred

AWS certifications (e.g., DevOps Engineer, Solutions Architect)

Familiarity with GitOps practices, secrets management, and infrastructure monitoring best practices

Experience building self-healing systems and automated remediation workflows
