Responsibilities
Conduct detailed interviews with potential clients to assess case viability
Review medical records, accident reports, insurance policies, and supporting evidence
Provide clear guidance on the legal process and expectations
Develop case strategy and manage all phases of personal injury matters, including motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, medical malpractice, wrongful death, and product liability cases
Maintain organized case files and ensure all deadlines, filings, and statutes of limitations are met
Communicate regularly with clients, medical providers, investigators, and experts
Draft demand letters and coordinate settlement negotiations with insurance adjusters
Prepare clients for recorded statements, depositions, and medical evaluations
Calculate damages, including medical expenses, lost wages, and pain and suffering
Draft complaints, motions, discovery requests, and other pleadings
Conduct depositions, attend hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences
Work with expert witnesses, including medical, vocational, and accident-reconstruction experts
Represent clients in court, including jury trials and bench trials
Develop trial strategy, prepare exhibits, examine witnesses, and deliver opening and closing arguments
Qualification
Required
Juris Doctor (JD) and an active state bar license
1–7+ years of experience in personal injury or civil litigation (varies by employer)
Strong negotiation and litigation skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
Ability to manage a high-volume caseload
Empathy and strong client-relations skills
Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities
