Textile Engineering Intern

Responsibilities

Support the development of textile preforms for composite structures through tasks such as characterization, mapping, and data collection of the complex 3D weaving process
Assist in textile design and analysis using CAD/CAE tools and simulation software (training provided as needed)
Help document experimental methods, process steps, and test results in technical reports or presentations
Participate in team meetings and provide progress updates to engineers and project leaders
Collaborate with engineering staff to evaluate materials, processes, and equipment
Follow all safety protocols and demonstrate a commitment to a safe working environment

Required

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or master's degree in Textile Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Strong interest in advanced materials, textiles, or composite manufacturing
Willingness to learn new tools and methods (e.g., CAD, simulation, testing protocols)
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Preferred

Familiarity with basic textile concepts (e.g., weaving, fiber types, material properties) is a plus
