Responsibilities
Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for multiple communities and corporate entities
Ensure compliance with GAAP and property management accounting standards
Manage lender, investor, and regulatory reporting, including debt covenant compliance
Coordinate year-end audits and support tax preparation and filings
Own community-level and ownership P&L statements , including NOI analysis and variance reporting
Partner with operational leadership to improve profitability and efficiency
Oversee rent roll accounting, tenant ledgers, security deposits, and collections
Manage AP/AR processes, vendor contracts, and resident billing accuracy
Monitor operating, reserve, and escrow accounts in compliance with state and lender requirements
Lead annual operating and capital budget preparation across the portfolio
Develop forecasts and cash flow models to support acquisitions, dispositions, and refinancing
Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff, including oversight of an offshore accounting team
Provide timely, actionable financial insights to support decision-making
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including 3+ years in a Controller or leadership role
Experience in property management, real estate is required
Proficiency with property management/accounting systems (e.g., Yardi, MRI, RealPage, AppFolio)
Strong GAAP knowledge and understanding of property-level financial operations
Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
